About 501(c)onsulting
Hello! I'm Michel Hudson, CFRE, CEFL, and I'm here to support you.
I've spent more than 30 years helping nonprofits and mission-driven organizations do what they do best: make the world better.
Through 501(c)onsulting, I bring a mix of real-world nonprofit experience and strategic insight to help leaders, boards, and teams grow with clarity and confidence. My work focuses on helping organizations strengthen their leadership, plan effectively, and stay aligned with their mission.
Why I Started 501(c)onsulting
I founded 501(c)onsulting back in 2001 with one simple goal — to support the people behind powerful missions.
I’ve been in your shoes: as staff, board member, volunteer, and consultant. That hands-on experience taught me what works (and what doesn’t) in the nonprofit world.
Whether you’re navigating board transitions, launching a strategic plan, or building team momentum, I’m here to help you find the path forward — one that’s practical, inspiring, and sustainable.
Let's Work Together
If you’re ready to strengthen your organization, bring clarity to your strategy, or spark renewed energy in your team — let’s talk.
Head over to the "Are We a Fit?" page to learn more about how we can partner to move your mission forward.
Together, we can make your good work even greater.
A Career Built on Connection and Service
Over the years, I’ve worn many hats — from Board President to Interim Executive Director, from conference speaker to fundraising campaign lead.
I’ve helped organizations with:
- Strategic planning and leadership training
- Board and staff retreats
- Membership and donor growth
- Event strategy and fundraising campaigns
- Policies and procedures creation
I’ve also had the joy of speaking at events for AFP, AHP, APRA, CASE, NAEF, and TEFN, among others — sharing lessons on topics such as board development, volunteer engagement, and succession planning.
Community and Volunteer Spirit
Giving back and volunteering have always been part of who I am.
I’ve served on boards and committees for groups like APRA International, the Pflugerville Education Foundation, and Women Communicators of Austin.
Along the way, I’ve been honored to receive recognitions such as:
- APRA Distinguished Service Award
- Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year (AFP Greater Austin)
- Pinnacle Award for Women in Business
- President's Award (Women Communicators of Austin)
These experiences have deepened my belief that strong, mission-driven leadership changes everything.
