About Me
Hello! I'm Michel Hudson, CFRE, CEFL, and I'm here to support you.
I have a wide range of experience spread over 30 years guiding nonprofits, associations, and small businesses who serve in local, national and global arenas.
Having been in the roles of staff, volunteer, and board member, I understand organizational issues from many different perspectives, so I established 501(c)onsulting in 2001 to play a role in changing the world by helping leaders like you reach your goals and fulfill your missions.
Over the years, I’ve served as a Board President and Interim Executive Director for a number of organizations, and been responsible for database and website conversions, strategic planning processes, membership management, and campaign fundraising, as well as events such as galas, golf tournaments, and professional development conferences.
I love to share my knowledge, so I have been a frequent speaker at regional and international conferences and workshops for AFP, AHP, APRA, CASE, TEFN, and other associations on topics as diverse as board and volunteer management, prospect research, and strategic and succession planning. I have also published over 100 articles in professional journals, in addition to serving as the co-author and editor of three editions of Prospect Research Fundamentals.
Self-professed as addicted to volunteering, I have served as a member of the board and executive team of a number of organizations, including APRA International, the Pflugerville Education Foundation, Hutto Discovery UMC, Women Communicators of Austin, and Freelance Austin. In addition, I have been honored with the APRA Distinguished Service Award, along with Pflugerville ISD's Volunteer of the Year Award and Business Partner of the Year. AFP Greater Austin selected me as the Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year for 2022, and I am the recipient of the 2024 Women Communicators of Austin President's Award.
